Lucido-l Hair Make wax review

So I got my little “Designing Pot # Hair Make” and my first thought was how pretty the pot is. Anyhow, opening it, the scent was pleasant and the wax looked slightly opaque. The blue “# Hair Make” product in the Lucido-l hair product line (Mandom’s answer to a girl version of Gatsby) “creates basic styles and tames down frizz”. Let’s put it to the test then.

Well, firstly, this product is suited for short to medium length hair; my hair is a tad bit longer than medium. It’s rated three stars for hold and two for sleekness. Loosely curl your hair before applying the product.

The # Hair Make (yes, it’s stylized with a hash) wax doesn’t really feel like wax. It isn’t thick or sticky, rather it has the consistency much like conditioner and is much smoother and oilier than typical styling wax. Spreading it on my fingers, it felt really greasy. I applied it moderately onto my hair and it did look pretty greasy at first. Fortunately, the wet, greasy look goes away after a few minutes of drying and it leaves your hair looking quite sleek and shiny. Initially, my hair felt a bit stiff, too. But that goes away when it dries off a bit, as well.

The product does a brilliant job of defining loose curls and flattening any frizz without flattening down the overall volume of the hair. It’s important to apply it in moderation, though; the wax does seem to have a difficult time making hair look un-greasy. I feel like it doesn’t take much to cross the line from sleek to greasy so just have a bit of caution. Also, apply the wax evenly; you don’t want just the front of your hair sleek while leaving the back frizzy. Also, remember that this product is really for holding too well so a good blast of hairspray is recommended.

Anyhow, the # Hair Make wax is a lovely product; it makes your loose curls look very pretty and it’s relatively easy to use. Although the scent isn’t that long lasting, it’ll be your typical floral fragrance while it lasts. The wax also washes out very easily. It took no more than a warm rinse to get it all out.
