Introducing the Spray Wax

Written by: Brianlam

As some of you may have heard, Gatsby and Shiseido have both come out with a new line of products:

Gatsby’s Moving Mist and Shiseido’s Fog Bar.

Both are spray waxes, meaning you spray them onto your hair and then style.  This removes the intermediate step of having to put your finger in and spread it all over your palms, ideally resulting in less product waste and less mess to wash off.

Both lines also have 3 types, for 3 styles:  stiff, soft, and something in-between.

Gatsby is calling theirs Crash, Move, and Swing.  Unfortunately, I cannot read Japanese so I’m currently unaware of specific names of Shiseido’s line.  But I’m pretty sure they vary in strength in descending order from Red to White to Blue.  Shiseido also sells “Fog Bar Tool”, an accessory which looks like a fancy comb that you use to primp up your hair.

I haven’t gotten a hold of any of these yet, but I can’t wait to try them out.  Will they replace Gatsby’s Moving Rubber line?  Only time will tell.

  1. I own the oink spray for gatsby. In fact, I own two bottles. I purchased them last year, August, when I went to Taiwan. Right now, I still have two very full bottles of the sprays because it is so unusable and urggg that I don’t want to use it anymore. I would not suggest this product to people, in my opinion
