Gatsby Moving Rubber Spikey Edge [Pink] – Product Review
Ahh the infamous Gatsby Pink, most of you should have atleast heard or used it before I remember using this way back in grade 12 best product ever, anyways on with the review.
Its pink! what can I say comes in a circular container with a bit of a matte look to it comes in 80g and probably the only 80g of hair product you’re gonna need for 3-4 months trust
me. It conviently stacks with other gatsby products that are from the same
product line… named “Moving Rubber”. The smell of the product can get some getting use to its heavy rubber smell with a hint of a fruit which I can not identify it doesnt matter anyways the smell goes away when the wax drys up.
I’ve been using this product for atleast 3-4 years now so I really know how this product works. First of all the pink gatsby has very strong hold so when applying it tends to pull your hair a lot, if your spreading it with your palms so I suggest the majority of you with medium hair to use the finger tip technique to spread by “pulling” like how you pull flowers to spread the wax. This product is mainly for people with short to medium hair as the gatsby chart proclaims, which be seen here. This product is very good at defining hair spikes and because of that hair spray should not be used with this product it’ll would be redundant to do so.
After using this product you might notice this product is very hard to wash off and sometimes you might even notice hair starts falling off this is probably one of the worse things about gatsby pink because its so good hold its very hard to was off you might have to wash your hair atleast quick to get rid of all the products. So one of the techniques that I’ve learned to deal with this problem is to either comb it while washing your hair or wash it first then use the hair straightener heat weakens this product to a point where it no longer provides hold. One more thing this products dries relatively fast so when you’re taking the wax you need make sure you close the container!
| Pros | Cons |
| Good hold | Smell (goes away later) |
| No shine | Hard to wash off |
| Ideal for Medium & Short hair | Very heavy may not be strong enough for medium hair styles |
| Gives a natural look |
Complimenting Hair Products:
-Any kind of hair product that lifts and gives body to your hair, this product can be used as a body for short hair.

well My hair is something between short to medium, but I want something that can be washed out easily and causes minimal hair loss. what do you recommend?

I usually mix half-and-half Green and Pink. Works pretty well, you get some volume and lift from Green and then a good hold with Pink.
As for it being hard to wash out, I don’t find it too bad. A regular shampoo gets it out, you don’t even need to do something drastic such as clarifying shampoo either.
One of my favorite things to do is to use a straightener with Gatsby. It gives you a funky feel and works pretty well depending on what kind of heat settings you get on your straightener. You’ll get a nice shape “heat-sealed” without the stickiness that comes from product. Too much and the product becomes useless though.

The price varies from place to place. The Style06 store currently has it for 10.99 and ships worldwide. Check it out.
As for length of hair, that also depends. With Gatsby pink it would work with 3 inches, maybe 4 but that’s pushing it.
