Gatsby Moving Rubber – Product Review

Gatsby Moving Rubber is one more popular hair wax in the Japanese market. Gatsby moving rubber comes in seven different colors, five for styling and two for texture. Gatsby moving rubber has an advantage over many hair products on the market, its special rubber formula allows re-styling as many times as you want and still retain the strength as if it was applied recently. Gatsby moving rubber also gives a flexible strong natural hold and rarely lead to a hair flop (hair falling down) during your long day. Most hair products today gives a chemical smell, however Gatsby Moving Rubber gives a fresh green apple scent.
Gatsby moving rubber is relatively easy to use and their official website at “http://www.gatsby.jp” gives couple short videos and tutorials on how to apply their product. However my only concern with this hair product is the sticky feeling it leaves your hair, hard to wash off, and sometimes easily collect dust in your hair.

nice review!! i have been looking for information about these gatsby products but I can’t read kanji so it was hard for me to read the gatsby website.
we do have gatsby here but the hold is not the same. any other products i could use?
i am a girl but i cosplay a lot of male characters and hair has always been a big challenge. i also style my everyday hair into male japanese styles but so far i still couldn’t quite make it look perfect.

Hey, finding Gatsby is probably one of the most difficult things. Personally, I get my friends to bring it back from the trips to HK and Japan. If you buy it in HK, it comes out to around $6-7 USD.
I live in Vancouver (Canada), and I know of two places that carry Gatsby: a store at Yaohan on the second floor, and a store at Aberdeen on the first floor (both are Chinese malls in Richmond). BUT, both stores sell moving rubber at a whopping $17.99 CDN. They do carry the entire line, however, including the newest products.
I go to school in LA, and if you go to the marukai (supermarkets) in Little Tokyo, they sometimes carry some Gatsby moving rubber for about $8 USD. However, their selection is limited. The last time I went, they only had yellow. They do have both black and red waxes, however (the ones in the cube containers).

Hello. I was wondering if anyone knows if it’s possible to find Gatsby in Montreal, Canada. I’ve been searching for a while and still haven’t been able to find it.
girlfriends parent are going back to HK at the end of september……MORE GATSBY FOR MEEEEEEEE!…um..if i cant get any from HK i usually buy it rom ebay…but these guys have a shop you can order from if you cant find it in canada…i assume?
I heard bad things about HK gatsby like… their consistency isnt the same or something lol have you experienced anything like that?
My friend’s orange Gatsby hardened into a wax after about a year, but he left the container open a lot. It was still usable, however, and actually still very effective–just not as the orange type was originally intended.
I have been using this product for over a year now,
and I have to say this product is the best hands down.
If you want an easy way to get cool “asian” hair.
Then I highly suggest you get this. All it takes
is a few simple steps.
1. Finger-sized amount
2. rub rub rub on hands!
3. Apply thoroughly in roots of hair…
4. Pull to straighten the hair and twist to perfection!
How easy is that?
Rating: 9/10 (The only problem is that when ppl touch
your hair it will still feel a “little” bit of wax.
Overall it is highly recommended STOP USING GEL AND GLUE!

Hello, I bought a gatsby moving rubber on last year. The manufacturing date of the product was Feb 2009. May I know the expiry for the gatsby moving rubber? I have one which still new and I never open it, can I still use it?

If you have one that’s never been opened it should be fine to use. As long as it hasn’t changed state(solidify/liquify) it should be ok.

nothing like that, its perfect for me..holds great and does what it should..it just tends to get a bit hard if you leave the lid open on it which makes it go a bit weird. other than that its all cool for me..and my hair is quite long…bit of pink gatsby crazy spikes…sorted..mebbe a dash of hairspray..
