Gatsby Moving Rubber Cool Wet (Blue) – Product Review

Written by: Brianlam

First Impressions

Gatsby Blue is the black sheep in the family.  While the others are all opaque and directed towards a matte look, Cool Wet is transparent and functions like a gel.  Not surprisingly, Blue is the least popular and most rarely used of the Moving Rubber line.  Heck, I’m not sure how it can even be considered a “moving rubber.”

The Review

I would recommend Gatsby Blue for only a few specific reasons:

1.  You’re not Asian and have given up on trying to obtain Asian hair styles with your wavy/curly hair.
2.  Your hair has grown out and is at the awkward length where it’s too long for Pink, too short for Orange, and you don’t own Purple.
3.  You miss the 90s when people used gel instead of wax/clay/putty.

Seriously, though, this product is best used for curly hair where wet products can accentuate the waves.  It’s not too popular in non-celebrity Asian hairstyles, but you do see Korean superstars now and then with the wet look.  But, you really have to use a lot of this product to even get the Cool Wet look, otherwise it just gets lost in your hair (or maybe my hair is just too thick).

Overall, you can save your money and skip this one, unless you just want to own the entire line.  Gatsby Yellow (Nuance Motion) will be the last and final review of the Moving Rubber series, so look for that in the near future!

  1. Thank you for the good writeup. It actually was once a leisure account it.

Glance complex to more delivered agreeable from you!

By the way, how could we be in contact?

  2. I have thick curly somewhat course hair, and usually unless I put gel or pomade in it, my hair will frizz out into a giant puff. The Shielo Antioxidant Leave In Protectant isn’t too heavy at all, neither does it get sticky or flaky after application. if your hair is wet and you put some into your hair and let it dry you can get the “wet look” that gels provide, if your hair is damp and you put it in you can get tameness of frizz that pomades give. if you put it on dry hair then you get the definition and “piece-iness” that waxes give.
