If Pink and Purple are brothers, then Green and Orange are… sisters. While Pink and Purple are for shorter, spikier styles, Green and Orange are best suited for medium to long length hair that is not planning on defying gravity. So what’s the difference between Green and Orange?

Green Gatsby is meant to give your hair some volume, hence the name air rise. Ever seen someone with terrible, flat hair that’s obviously too long to spike up with Pink? Recommend Green to them. Medium/long hair is too heavy to lift with Pink, and it’ll just end up greasy looking. Green, however, will bring hair together into spike-like formations that will hang down instead of up. Also, Green can be applied to the tips of your hair to twist into points–something that Orange is not used for. It does take quite a bit of product, though, since more hair = more product and Green is not as sticky as Pink or Purple. I’d definitely use hairspray, too, if you want your work to last the day. All in all a good product, but only if you understand the limitations of Green Gatsby and work within them.

Just wondering, but I’m a girl with shoulder length layered hair, I want more volume in my hair, and subtle waves at the top, do you think I should get the purple, orange, or green gatsby?
Thanks! ^^

Aaah Gatsby
Love that stuff! Two summers ago, I got a rather short girly boy-ish haircut (dunno how else to describe it)in Hong Kong. I felt that it needed a cool shape, so I went ahead and bought the green air-rise gatsby at the mall. It smells so good. When I applied it, I think I put too much? It got sticky. I learned to put less in the future. Then I looked up reviews on this product that said green was the least effective for hair styling out of the moving rubber series. Right now, my hair is looong. I still have over half of the stuff left and don’t know what to do with it. Any suggestions?

Save it for when you cut your hair shorter again?
Or just use it now to volumize. Apply at the roots to add lift, try and keep it away from the tips or it’ll weigh your hair down.
You can also try leaving it not tightly closed for a little bit and let it dry out. It’ll turn it into a stiffer wax.
