Dry Shampoo

What is dry shampoo?

Some of you might not know what the hell this is. Well, it’s literally just, dry shampoo. Hahaha simple no?

I personally think it’s such a life saver! It’s a great way for you to touch up your hair between washes and it also gives your hair a volume boost.

If you are the type of person that gets greasy hair really quickly, like within a day, this is the perfect solution for you!

As you may know, washing your hair too often is bad for your hair. Why?

  1. Washing your hair too frequently will result in your scalp producing sebum at a faster rate, because your hair is in need of the nutrients from this. This is what makes your hair greasy.
  2. Wash your hair every other day, (if you don’t know what this means, it’s basically; Day 1~ You wash your hair. Day 2~ DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR. Day 3~ Wash your hair. So, leave a day in between washes.)

I know that may sound gross right now, but trust me. Once you get into this routine, your hair will get greasy slower. And this is when the dry shampoo comes in handy. Between the washes, use the dry shampoo to get rid of that greasy looking hair! It freshens it up and makes it appear clean… when in actual fact it isn’t, haha ;D

BUT nobody will know. I’ve done it. (Unless they use dry shampoo, too, and know what it smells like lol)

Or if you have no time to wash your hair because you are running majorly late, spray on some dry shampoo and you’re good to go!

It is also good to use throughout the day to give your hair a nice volume boost as well as refresh your hair when it’s feeling quite heavy.

I think this is essential for when you go camping. The shower que’s are either always so long, or they are just plain DIRTY that you do not want to even go near it. Or it’s full of insects… etc. Dry shampoo will actually save you from looking like a greasy slob!

You mainly get it in spray cans like:

The James Brown Dry Shampoo has a nice fragrance (in my opinion). It’s more purfumey. I find it more bearable than the Toni&Guy fragrance which smells like all their other products, except it’s a much more potent smell which makes me run out of the room.

Recently, Tresemme has released a new range called “Fresh Start”. This range includes a foam for curly hair, spray for straight hair, a mist and a creme.

I have yet to try these out, so i cant say much about these ^^; Shall come later!

That is all for now~^^

  1. I use the Tresemme Dry Shampoo spray for my hair. I have such thick and heavy hair that I need to not wash it everyday because it gets more damaged that way. I think mine is the one for normal to straight hair. I recently just got a new straightener so I’ve been trying to keep it more straight than curly (I have natural curl to my hair). So that being said. I absolutely LOVE this product. You must shake it really good in between sprays and it’s super shockingly cold on the scalp lol. So be prepared for that. Leave it in for 1-2 minutes or until it turns white and rub it in.

  2. A formidable share, I just given this onto a colleague who was doing slightly analysis on this. And he actually bought me breakfast as a result of I found it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the deal with! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love reading extra on this topic. If possible, as you develop into experience, would you thoughts updating your weblog with extra details? It is extremely useful for me. Big thumb up for this blog submit!

  3. Whoa, I had no idea dry shampoo existed XD. lol I need to go get some. In my case, my hair gets greasy if I DON’T wash it every night. What should I do…?

    • So basically your routine right now is washing everyday?

      I only recommend using dry shampoo, if you haven’t styled your hair with any products such as wax/gel/clay. Those have to be washed out ^^;

& its really up to you, dry shampoo is like a last minute saviour, like in my case, i never wash my hair at night, only during the day/morning. And if i wake up late/want more sleep, i have no time to wash my hair, so i use dry shampoo~

If you want to slow down the time it takes your hair to become greasy, use dry shampoo, and wash your hair every other day.
Though i must say, this will take quite a while to fix so it depends how patient you are…

It took me a couple of months to slow mine down xD now it takes about 2 days for my hair to get greasy :D
And lucky for me, my hair gets greasy underneath, so you can’t really notice it THAT much xD

  4. I have tried alot of different dry shampoos and for me the best is batiste dry shampoo. Purely because of the range of smells and there isn’t as much residue as with others. The tresemme one left my hair feeling much heavier and without much bounce or life you know? Great Post

    • ^^ Which Tresemme product did you try? Or did you try them all? I was thinking of getting The spray and the foam one today… but i ended up getting toni&guy again >~<

  5. Dry shampoo is NOT a substitute of actually WASHING your hair. Its just for like, an emergency I guess, when you don’t have time to wash your hair and don’t want to go out looking like a grease head.

I would say that this product would be used by girls more than guys~

This product gives a natural look as well, its not greasy or shiny. It gives a matte effect. This is better suited for people that don’t/haven’t styled their hair.
